Service level agreements
Jane Early Director of special projects, Glasgow College of Nursing and Midwifery and is now retired
Changes in the management of nurse education have created the need for new guidelines. Jane Early describes how a college of nursing and midwifery set up service agreements
A n extensive literature review indicated a dearth of material relating to service level agreements, with the exception of Walter and MacLeod 1993 (1, 2). This apparent absence of a research- based journal article stimulated the writing of this anecdotal account of designing, subsequent negotiation, and agreement of both parties for service level agreements between the Glasgow College of Nursing and Midwifery and practice placements.
