Overseas nurses

Ruth Williams Freelance writer

A series of films aimed at supporting overseas nurses with transition and integration into UK practice has been developed by Health Education England in response to requests from NHS nurse educators. The training videos are aimed at familiarising overseas nurses with UK clinical environments and include simulation-based clinical scenarios. According to NHS Employers, the resource is intended to be a support at the point of registration rather than a guide to passing objective structured clinical examination exams, but it does offer advice and signposts to references that could help nurses prepare for these. To support the integration of overseas nurses, employers are encouraged to share the resource with new recruits.
