Initiatives to create bonding experiences between parents and preterm babies in neonatal intensive care are reducing stress

The UK figure for babies born prematurely (before 37 weeks), is about 60,000 per year, based on an estimate of 59,300 preterm births in 2010 (Blencowe et al 2012). The estimate comes from the World Health Organization (WHO).
