Being a learning disability nurse now is a bit like being a crew member on the Titanic – except we can see the iceberg ahead

The latest Learning Disabilities Mortality Review report (NHS England and University of Bristol 2018) is informative, but depressing, reading because of what it reveals about the shortened life expectancy of people with a learning disability, as well as about the impoverished lives lived by this same population during and up to death.
