Mark Cooper, Derek Nelson and Dennis Purcell look at the future of emergency nurse practitioners and discuss why they think the title is vital
December’s issue of Emergency Nurse reported that the title ‘emergency nurse practitioner’ (ENP) is under threat (Lipley 2002), partly because there is no clear definition of what ENPs are or do, and partly due to the development of the faculty of emergency nursing (FEN). No alternative title was offered.
