Jackie Green wants to set up a nurse-led clinic for people with anaemia, but there is much to think about. How many hours a week should it open? Where will it be? How will she convince commissioners and senior managers that it is needed and that it will work? Ms Green believes that if her clinic was set up and working well, GPs would refer patients to it and nurses would either treat patients themselves or move them on to the services they require.
