Young people give their views on information sharing

Young people in England and Wales have given a clear indication that practitioners and policy makers still have much to do to win the confidence of children and young people in a proposed information sharing computer system. In a study requested by the Children’s Commissioner for England, the NSPCC held focus group discussions with 71 young people aged 14 and over on ways in which professionals and practitioners share information about them. They were commenting specifically on the government’s plans for a computerised child index to promote information sharing.
