No pay rise, no holiday bonus – how can we balance work and home life?

I find it appalling that the government is yet again trying to block any increase in nurses’ pay. Many staff, in particular those at the top of their pay grade, have not had an increase for three years now, yet they are still expected to work on Christmas Day for the same wage as for a normal Sunday shift. How can this be fair?
