Being told your child has cancer and that her short-term survival is tenuous probably rates among the most devastating news a parent can ever hear. This article examines one family’s personal journey through the cancer treatment of their teenage daughter. The author, a registered nurse, also offers insights for nursing practice about how to deal with patients and their families.
