Jim Gibson sets out the case for why psychotherapy should not be overlooked or dismissed as a treatment for older people struggling to come to terms with a diagnosis of dementia
This article shows that the psychological impact of dementia can be at least as important as the organic effect on a person. It will support literature with a brief case study showing that cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is effective in reducing the distress that a dementia diagnosis can have on the person.
