Primary care trussed?

Jane Warner Practice Nurse, Berkshire

Jane Warner looks back to a time at the start of the 21st century when primary care trusts were already fading into history

Some people complain about the number of reorganisations foisted upon the people who work for the National Health Service. I’m happy to report that I’m not one of them. After all, it’s September 2017. It’s quite amazing how time flies. My retirement party went well. I was particularly touched by the holographic bouquet which had been lovingly down- loaded, complete with floral perfume spray ‘Eau D’ire’. Since then, I have kept myself busy. Tidying away my papers, I came across the transcribed notes for a speech I recall giving in 2004, and which I’d had the foresight to commit to videotape. Attached to the video was a yellowed invitation card. ‘You are cordially invited, it states in gold lettering, ‘to a strategic directional meeting on 1st April, 13.00hrs. RSVP’.
