Finding a voice

Although the Law Lords ailed against euthanasia, nurses may now have a greater role in ethical discussions on the right to die. Edward Rowe reports

Sue Rodriguez was 43 when her doctor gave her the injection. Within hours she was dead in the arms of her friend, Canadian MP Svend Robinson. Diagnosed in 1991 with a progressively paralysing disease, she fought the Canadian government for more than a year for the legal right to die.
