I gained a lot from the learning zone article on the assessment of older adults who misuse alcohol (April 21). The quoted Department for Work and Pensions figures on alcohol misuse by older men and women in the UK are staggering, and the signs and symptoms of alcohol dependency are something that many of us can relate to.
