Chronic diarrhoea

Samantha Nichols Nursing student, Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College

Samantha Nichols plans to enhance her knowledge by spending time in a specialist unit after reading a learning zone article

During placements on a general surgical ward and in an accident and emergency (A&E) department, I frequently encountered patients with chronic diarrhoea of unknown cause. This article reinforced my knowledge about providing nursing care to these patients and taught me the most common causes and most appropriate treatments for chronic diarrhoea. This knowledge will be invaluable in my future practice.
