After just one year working on a hospital ward in Wales, Kiera Jones opted to transfer to a community nursing post – and found a whole new career path

I qualified in September 2004 and worked for a year on a surgical ward in Wales where, as a student, I had learned a great deal in a short placement. I was warned how busy the ward would be, but I was still not prepared for how different working as a newly qualified nurse would be.
