When I qualified as a nurse last September I was simultaneously excited and terrified. On the one hand I was desperate to get out there and start nursing ‘properly’, making my own decisions about my own patients and exercising my autonomy – and earning better money. On the other hand I was worried about what was expected of me now I was ‘in blue’.
