Our jaws dropped on reading ‘Eye contact boosts patient confidence’ (news January 25). In today’s financial climate, we are concerned that money has been spent on researching a subject that is, and always has been, a fundamental part of nursing. Those responsible for training healthcare workers still include this as basic knowledge – just as they did when we trained.
