Not convinced uniforms pose infection threat

Infection control is often cited inappropriately to justify actions, to ban or restrict practices (news August 31). Staff wearing hospital uniforms in public places has generated considerable discussion. The banning order does not seem to extend to other professions whose clothing is likely to be contaminated, such as builders and plumbers. Neither does it extend to healthcare staff who have been wearing their own clothes at work.
