Don’t ask for one ‘yes’ vote on two separate issues

Helen Savage , Oxfordshire

When posing their questions for the forthcoming ballots on the Agenda for Change proposals, I hope the unions will consider the dual issues involved (news March 12). The proposed job evaluation system may prove very effective and so may receive a ‘yes’ vote. But the proposed pay increase does not address the inadequacy of current levels of pay and seems unlikely to address the issue of staff retention. Rejection of this is, therefore, likely.
