Diet is yet another meaty issue the government is failing to get its teeth into

If you had the unenviable job of laying all the chickens used annually by just one of the fast-food giants beak to toe, they would apparently wrap around the globe 11 times. I'm not sure who measures these things, but it said so in The Times so it must be true. It also said the average frankfurter hot-dog can contain as little as 25 per cent lean meat, which may make those of you not eating one at the moment wonder what's in the remaining 75 per cent.
