When Debbie Walsh became acting head of district nursing at NHS Trafford she had to redefine the way care was provided and set up new services for the local population. As she explains here, she found the self-belief and determination she needed to complete these tasks after being chosen to take part in the Release leadership programme
I HAVE worked in community services for the past 21 years, and in clinical and operational roles supporting the head of nursing for the past five. I have responsibility for a round-the-clock district nursing service, district nurse liaison and a community phlebotomy service.
