Input from nurses, psychologists, special education teachers, social workers, physiotherapists and neurologists. As in Britain, general practitioners are responsible for the primary health care of people with learning disabilities. However, unlike Britain, nurses in the habilitation team do not see themselves having a role in the primary health care of individuals (Paxton and Taylor 1998). It is also noteworthy that habilitation teams had no input from psychiatry or speech and language therapy services.
