Nick Castle considers the laryngeal mask airway (LMA) to be effective and easy to use in most airway emergencies
The former Wembley Stadium Medical Service treated appropriately 20,000 patients per year. These presentations involved a wide range of emergencies, including cardiac arrests (Castle 1998). Unlike most sport stadia in the UK, Wembley Stadium employed its own medical/nursing/first aid staff and provided a comprehensive minor injury, advanced life support (ALS), acute illness and a major incident service.
