Cathy Hutchison, questions the effect of audio visual patient information (AVPI) in the cancer clinical trial setting, particularly in relation to consent rates
This article describes how AVPI was developed to help patients considering whether to enrol in randomised cancer trials. AVPI was evaluated as part of a randomised controlled trial which looked at the effect of the video/DVD/CD-Rom on knowledge, anxiety and consent rates to trials. This article gives an overview of the project and refers to papers published previously on the work.
