More people in the UK are surviving cancer, but the long-term effects of treatment and the support that survivors need to have a good quality of life are under-recognised and under-resourced. This article examines the work of the National Cancer Survivorship Initiative, specifically the projects that nurse members of its Consequences of Cancer Treatment group are involved with that aim to address inadequate provision of specialist services for survivors.
