Personalised care is not routinely available for everyone with cancer, but with its focus on what matters to patients it can give them more choice and control

Over the past decade, efforts have been made to provide personalised care to people living with cancer. The NHS Long Term Plan (NHS England (NHSE) 2019b) committed to ‘every person with a cancer diagnosis being able to access a needs assessment and personalised care plan.’
